Cut the broccoli into bite sized chunks. Add to a pan of boiling water and simmer for 4-5 minutes until fork tender. Drain the water completely and set aside to steam dry.
Thinly slice the cabbage into strips. Thinly slice the garlic. Melt the butter in a skillet over a medium heat. Add the cabbage, garlic, lemon zest and thyme. Season and stir to combine, cooking for 3-4 minutes to soften the cabbage.
Add the broccoli florets, stir to combine and cook for a further minute or two until the cabbage has softened.
Sprinkle over the grated parmesan to serve.
