Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Slice the broccoli into florets of even sizes and arrange across a shallow oven tray. Thinly slice the garlic and scatter over the broccoli along with the lemon zest, salt and pepper. Drizzle with the olive oil and lemon juice.
Transfer to the oven to bake for 18-20 minutes, turning halfway through until fork tender and golden at the edges.
Toss the broccoli with the watercress sauce to serve.
