This Christmas ham is a great way to enjoy the holidays without compromising on your low carb diet. Tender, flavorful ham is studded with whole cloves roasted to perfection and then topped with a brown sugar glaze. The clove perfumes the entire ham with wonderful festive flavor. The recipe can be used as a base for all kinds of flavors – the only limit is your imagination. You will love this Christmas Ham paired with other low carb sides and desserts.
Preheat the oven to 325 F. Place the ham into a 9” x 13” casserole dish and poke the whole cloves in and around the entire ham. Cover tightly with foil. Cook according to package directions, but should be about 10-15 minutes per pound of ham.
In the meantime, make the glaze by combining the brown sugar sweetener and butter in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute until combined. Remove the ham from the oven and remove the foil. Brush the ham with the glaze using a silicone pastry brush.
Place the ham back into the oven uncovered for 10-15 minutes or until it is nicely browned and glazed. Serve immediately.
