How to Make It

Step 1

Place a large saucepan filled with several inches of water over medium high heat. Bring the water to a boil.

Step 2

In the meantime, place the fish on a plate and set the plate inside the steamer basket. Once the water is at a boil, place the steamer with the steamer lid on over the pot. Steam for 8-10 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 3

Heat oil in a small saute pan over medium heat until hot. Add julienned ginger and cook until it has browned slightly, about 1-3 minutes. Turn the heat down to low if the ginger is browning too quickly. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil to the ginger mixture and the kosher salt. Stir well.

Step 4

Immediately top the fish with the chopped cilantro and julienned scallions.

Step 5

Pour this immediately into the fish with the cilantro and scallions. Serve immediately. Feel free to serve the fish with some sliced chilies on top.
