Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly oil a shallow oven tray. Slice each piece of bacon in half across the center and arrange across a clean work surface.
Peel the avocado and remove the stone. Slice the avocado into 8 even-sized strips. Add the grated parmesan to a bowl. Roll each avocado strip in parmesan so that it is lightly dusted all over.
Arrange a basil leave on each bacon piece. Take a parmesan-coated avocado slice and wrap it tightly in the bacon, securing the basil leaf inside. Repeat this with the remaining avocado and bacon.
Arrange the bacon-wrapped avocado pieces across the prepared oven tray. Transfer to the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Gently flip the avocado fries over and bake for a further 6-8 minutes or until the bacon is cooked through and crisp and the avocado slightly browned. Allow to cool a little before serving.
