Place a large heavy-bottomed pot over high heat. Add the beef and cook for 7 minutes until browned. Drain if desired.
Drop the heat to medium, and add the taco seasoning and 1 cup of broth. Simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated. Add the canned tomato (undrained) and the remaining broth. Stir to incorporate.
