Finely grate the ginger and crush the garlic. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over a medium heat and add the garlic and ginger. Sweat for a few minutes until tender and fragrant.

Thinly slice the cabbage and add to the skillet along with the syrup, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper. Stir well to combine and pan fry for 4-6 minutes or until the cabbage is wilted and starting to caramelize at the edges.
