Before you begin the recipe, make sure you’re using the right type of cocoa powder. Make sure you have cocoa powder for baking and not a hot cocoa powder mix. Baker’s cocoa powder should be unsweetened and 100% dark. You’ll find this type of cocoa powder in the baking aisle at your grocery store.
Step 2
Open a new can of organic coconut milk (do not shake it beforehand). Scrape the thick cream from the lid and top of the can into a blender until you reach the weight listed in the ingredients. Add the cocoa powder, almond milk, vanilla extract, and liquid stevia to the blender. Pulse these ingredients until the cocoa powder breaks up, then blend the ingredients at high speed to make the base of the smoothie.
Step 3
Add frozen strawberries to the blender, and blend again at high speed until the strawberries are broken up. Blend ice cubes into the smoothie until it is thickened to your desired consistency. One smoothie will create 16 fluid ounces, so pour it into a tall glass for serving. Drink this Keto smoothie once a week before a workout or as a treat or snack.
