If a whole turkey for Thanksgiving is too much for your small family dinner, this recipe is the perfect addition to your Keto Thanksgiving menu. A large turkey joint is basted with a savory herb and garlic butter and cooked until golden and juicy. This easy main dish will pair well with just about any Thanksgiving side dish.
How to Make It
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350F/180 C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Finely chop the thyme and parsley and mince the garlic cloves. Add them to a bowl with the softened butter, salt, and pepper.
Step 2
Whisk together until the herbs and seasonings are well incorporated into the butter. Massage the compound butter into the turkey leg, getting it under the skin if you can. Transfer the butter-slathered turkey to the baking sheet.
Step 3
Cover the baking sheet with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove from the oven and baste the turkey with the melted butter and juices, then return to the oven. Repeat this every 15-minutes for the next hour. Leave the foil off for the last 15 minutes.
Step 4
Let the turkey rest for 15 minutes before handling. Transfer it to a serving platter and spoon over some of the butter and herbs. Garnish with more parsley and thyme if you wish, and serve.
