Roughly chop the strawberries discarding the green tips. Add the chopped strawberries to a food processor along with the syrup (or preferred sweetener) and lemon juice. Blend well to combine until the strawberries are completely broken down and you have a thick syrup.

Select two cocktail or serving glasses of your choice. Pass the strawberry syrup through a fine sieve to remove any seeds. Divide the syrup evenly between the two glasses.

Roughly chop the fresh basil. Divide the chopped basil between the two glasses. Stir gently to mix.
Step 4
Divide the sparkling water between the two glasses. Give a gentle stir to combine and churn up the strawberry syrup. Add ice as required.
