How to Make It
Step 1
Start by removing the casing from links of ground italian sausage (the original recipe here uses 2 links of sausage). Reform the ground meat into patties and flatten them on a clean surface. Place about ½ oz of crumbled feta cheese in the center of each patty.
Step 2
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Reform the meat patties around the feta cheese and flatten into the hot pan. Cook the burgers for approx. 4-5 minutes per side for a well done burger. Adjust the heat as necessary to avoid burning (the burgers will get a dark char on both sides).
Step 3
For serving, arrange a ¼ oz of chopped lettuce on a plate per burger. Arrange a burger on top of the lettuce and top off with ½ oz tomato slice and ¼ oz thin-sliced red onion rings.
