How to Make It
Step 1
Begin by slicing two thick steaks from a head of cauliflower. They should weight 3 ½ oz each and should be about ¾-inch or 1-inch thick.
Step 2
In a medium sized skillet, heat half the olive oil on high heat. Place the cauliflower steaks down in the oil. Then, drizzle the remaining olive oil over the exposed sides of the steaks. Sprinkle a ¼-tsp each of the salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the steaks, as well as ½-tsp of the italian seasoning.
Step 3
Place a lid over the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the cauliflower steaks begin to turn golden brown.
Step 4
Remove the lid from the skillet. Flip the steaks over so the other side can cook. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning over the newly exposed cauliflower and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 5
Your cauliflower steaks should only cook for 4-5 minutes total. Any long, and the cauliflower will lose its structure. Enjoy hot!
