Add the broccoli to a pan of boiling water and simmer for 4-5 minutes until just tender. Drain completely and set aside.
Step 2
Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over a low/medium heat. Finely dice the onion and add to the skillet, sweating until tender.
Step 3
Crush the garlic and add to the skillet along with the flaked almonds. Cook for a minute or two until the garlic is tender and the almonds start to turn golden.
Step 4
Add the broccoli, lemon zest, remaining olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well to combine and cook for a further few minutes until the onion and almonds are golden and the broccoli is cooked through.
