This is the easiest Keto Italian sausage recipe you’ll make! Classic Italian sausage and peppers can be Keto-friendly and a healthy addition to your low carb diet. You hardly have to change the original recipe to make it Keto. Choose mild or spicy links of Italian sausage from your grocery store. Follow the recipe to brown the sausage, then cook a blend of bell peppers with lots of spices. This one-skillet meal can be easily made in under an hour, no matter how large a batch you’re making. If you don’t want to serve your Italian sausage and peppers with bread, try a low-carb salad with a high-fat dressing.

How to Make It

Step 1

Cut whole sausage links into two pieces each so each serving will include two pieces of sausage (or 1 link). Heat olive oil in a pan over high heat before adding the raw sausage to the pan. Brown the sausage in the hot oil on all sides until the sausage is almost fully cooked through (it will get cooked more later). Set the browned sausage aside and return the empty pan with the excess oil back to your stove.

Step 2

Cut the red and green bell peppers into medium-thick slices. Add the raw peppers to the pan and toss them with the excess oil. Season the peppers with all the listed seasonings before heating them over high heat. Cook the peppers, adjusting the heat as necessary until they’re browned and tender in the oil.

Step 3

Turn the heat down to medium or medium-low, and return the browned sausage back to the pan. Stir the ingredients together and place a lid over your pan. Cook the ingredients until the peppers become softer and the sausage finishes cooking through. Stir or add more olive oil as needed until the sausage and peppers are done.
