In a small pot, bring the cream to a simmer on a low heat setting. Reduce the heat so the cream is just slightly bubbling and whisk in the cheddar cheese until melted. Whisk in the pepper and paprika as well. Set the sauce aside once it has come together to cool.

In a stand mixer, mix the cream cheese until it is smooth and lump free. Scrape down your mixing bowl to make sure all the cream cheese is mixed.

Mix the cheese sauce into the cream cheese. Then, use a spatula to fold the bacon bits into the dip by hand.

Serve right away with sliced almonds pressed on top of the dip.
