How to Make It

Step 1

Peel and chop the onion. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the onions and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 2

Add the butter, ground beef, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally and breaking the meat into smaller pieces. When done, drain the grease from the pan.

Step 3

Chop the parsley. Add the parsley, cream cheese, and tomato paste to the pan. Mix well and cook for another 5-7 minutes. Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Shred the parmesan cheese. Transfer the prepared beef mixture to a 24×15 cm (9×6 inch) casserole dish. Stir half the parmesan cheese into the ground beef mixture and top with the remaining parmesan.

Step 5

Shred the cheddar cheese. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly over the parmesan layer. Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 6

When done, remove it from the oven and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Cut into 8 equal pieces. Transfer to serving plates.

Step 7

Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley or a dollop of sour cream. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

  • Extra virgin olive oil 1 tbsp
  • Butter 1 tsp
  • Salt 0.5 tsp
  • Garlic powder 1 tsp
  • Cayenne 0.5 tsp
  • Onion 0.5 medium – 2 1/2″ diameter
  • Parsley 0.25 cup
  • Cheddar cheese, natural 1 cup, shredded
