Heat the olive oil in a skillet over a low/medium heat. Thinly slice the garlic and add to the pan, sweating gently until tender and fragrant.

Drain the olives of any preserving liquid and then add to the skillet with the garlic. Pan fry over a medium heat for 5 minutes to warm through.
Step 3
Add the lemon juice and basil leaves to the skillet and pan fry for a minute more until the olives are lightly golden and the basil has wilted. Serve hot or cooled.
