Heat the coconut oil in a pan over a low/medium heat. Thinly slice the garlic and add to the pan along with the red pepper flakes. Sweat gently until tender and fragrant.
Step 2
Slice the cabbage into half inch strips and add to the pan. Stir well to coat in the oil and seasonings and cook for 2-3 minutes until tender.
Step 3
Add the syrup, tamari, lime juice, salt and pepper and stir well to combine. Continue to cook for 2 minutes more, stirring often, until the cabbage has softened a little and is starting to caramelize in the sauce.
