Bring the butter to room temperature so that it is soft and easily mashable. Heat the oil in a skillet over a medium heat and add the bacon, cooking through until crisp and golden. Set aside to cool.

Mince the garlic and add to a mixing bowl along with the softened butter and parmesan. Very finely chop or crumble the crispy cooked bacon into the bowl.

Mix everything together well to combine.

Spoon the butter out onto a sheet of baking parchment and form into a rough log shape. Wrap tightly in the paper and transfer to the fridge to firm for 20 minutes or until ready to serve.
