In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, cumin, and oregano.
Heat the olive oil in a medium-sized pan over medium-high heat. Form the burger meat into a thick patty and place in the oil. Use the back of a spatula to gently press the burger down into a wider, thinner patty. Cook the burger on both sides to your preferred level of doneness.
When you flip the patty over, layer the cheese on top to melt. You may use a lid to help the cheese melt and shorten your cooking time in this step.
Transfer the burger to your serving plate. Cook the bacon in the same pan to a crisp. You can slice the bacon into two pieces before layering on top of your burger.
You can drain the bacon fat out of your pan and return the pan to the stove to cook the egg. Crack an egg into your pan and fry ‘sunny side up’ or to your liking. For this recipe, a egg done easy or medium would be ideal.
After you transfer the fried egg to the top of your burger, arrange on the plate a side of lettuce and tomato. Slice the avocado and arrange in the empty space. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the avocado and tomato if you wish.
