How to Make It

Step 1

Combine water, salt, flax seeds and coconut flour together in a small saucepan.

Step 2

Whisk mixture until it starts to thicken.

Step 3

Whisk egg in a small bowl, then add some of the thickened, hot mixture into the egg to temper it. Then place it all back into the saucepan.

Step 4

Whisk contents of saucepan until mixture thickens again and egg is cooked about 2 minutes. Take the grits off the heat and stir in the shredded cheese and butter until well combined. Taste and add additional salt as needed.

Step 5

Top with heavy cream and serve hot!

Ingredients

  • Water – ¾ cup
  • Coarse Kosher Salt By Morton – ⅓ tsp
  • Organic Ground Flax Seed by Wild Oats – 2 tbsp
  • Coconut Flour – 2 tablespoon
  • Shredded Cheddar – 6 tablespoon, shredded
  • Heavy Cream – ½ tablespoon
  • Raw Egg – 1 large
  • Butter – 2 teaspoon
